The Rawai-Nai Harn Multihull Regatta 2012 is on

Formerly the Phuket Multihull Championship, now the Rawi-Nai Harn Multihull Regatta 2012, the 5th since its conception, is on from the 12th-15th July with the Rawai-Nai Harn Business Association being the main sponsor of this year’s event. The main member sponsors from the Business Association are Da Vinci Yacht Charters, Palm Garden Resort, and Serenity Resort and Residences. Due to the new sponsorships, there will be a number of new prize-giving and party venues this year.
Palm Garden Resort in Chalong will host Friday 13th July night event and Serenity Resort and Residences, Rawai, will host the final night on Sunday the 15th July. The Saturday night 14th July prize-giving will be an early affair at the Ao Chalong Yacht Club but thereafter the club has been hired for a private function.

On the water:
Racing will be run from the Ao Chalong Yacht Club facilities with courses set in the waters around southern Phuket. There will be two classes: Firefly 850 one design, and Ocean Multihulls.
In the Firefly class ther are two new owners, two charters, and an unknown quantity on Sea Property to challenge the consistency of Moto Inzi and Voodoo Child. This class always produces great action and many surprises.
The Ocean Multihull class looks more exciting than ever, with awesome winners like Miss Saigon, Thor, and Da Vinci now to be challenged by a new Sea Cart 26 Sweet Chariot and a new Stealth 11.8 (sister ship to Sidewinder). In addition, there will be a number of well sailed Corsairs and other local multihulls who could upset them.
The Club would be happy to run a class for cruising multihulls if four or more enter. They would be given a handicap rating to make the racing fun.
Palm Garden Resort and Serenity Resort & Residences are the official hotels of the Rawai-Nai Harn Multihull Regatta 2012. Mention you are a participant of the regatta to receive a 25% discount on published website rates at both hotels.
