Heesen appoint Jansen Maritime Services as yacht management partner.

Heesen Yachts has announced a new set of branded services to enhance the benefits of its yachting experience. Four distinct areas form the “four-pillar strategy” within Heesen Yacht Services, and Heesen is proactively reaching out to owners, captains and senior crew to enhance the customer experience, improve operational reliability, and to protect and retain the value of the yacht.

All of this is achieved through four core services: Heesen Yacht Management, Heesen Original Spare Parts, Heesen Refit and the Heesen Academy.

Jansen Maritime Services (JMS) is proud to have been chosen to deliver the yacht management element.

Heesen believes that no one knows a yacht better than the shipyard that built it. In collaboration with (JMS) founded by Franc Jansen with offices in southern France and the UK, Heesen Yachts is offering full management services to its fleet of yachts. It is this combination of the management experience of JMS and the shipyard’s in-depth knowledge that sets the service apart.

Providing cost-effective, transparent and dedicated support, Heesen Yacht Management can oversee the complete range of operational, technical, financial and compliance requirements from insurance, accounting and manning to maintenance reviews, refits and safety management. The end result is that operational reliability is improved and the value of the yacht is maintained.

JMS concentrates on one core proposition – Yacht Management. Over the past few years Jansen has seen a major shift in the industry and firmly believes that it is difficult to offer the owner a true management, or new build service, while also running a brokerage and charter business.

The team at JMS combines experience in the commercial shipping and superyacht world to provide a more streamlined and enhanced service. The principal areas of business are Yacht Management, New Build and Refit Supervision, Crewing, Consultancy and Safety Management (ISM/ISPS/MLC).

As a Class Surveyor, Jansen was directly involved with the development of the MCA Large Yacht Code while acting as a liaison to yacht builders across the UK. Representing MYBA Yacht Managers, Jansen was involved with the implementation of the recently ratified ILO MLC2006 regulations into the MCA Large.
