Turkish boutique yacht designer and builder Mazu Yachts introduces its new 38 soft top
Mazu Yachts has been designing, producing and marketing luxury hard-top and open motor yachts since 2011. Known for their sleek and aggressive looking planing motor yachts made with cold-molded system, Mazu stands out due to its building techniques, which gives its hulls extra strength despite their light weight.
Designed by Halit Yukay, the Mazu 38 soft top, has been sold to a European client. He wanted a “military look” combining the latest luxury superyacht tender amenities with trendy elegance. On the Mazu 38 soft top deck, the two pilot seats and also the two passenger seats can absorb every shock to ensure the best comfort and safest navigation. The foldable table operates with hydraulics.
The owner of Mazu 38 soft top is an “Armani style enthusiast”. The yard decided to use as many different textures of leathers and fabrics as possible – all from Foglizzo and a number of mirrors to give the maximum depth interiors perception, like in a loft condo. Halit Yukay also designed a fantastic indoors lighting mood from the Italian supplier Cantalupi to enhance the Mazu 38’s dramatic feeling. The main target was to travel with outmost elegance and comfort, in complete safety. İt is the ultimate super-yacht tender with unparalleled stability, comfort and power.
The new Mazu 38 soft top is equipped with two Volvo Penta IPS 400 engines and the boat can reach a top speed of 34 knots. VOLVO PENTA’s İPS propulsion system also provides good fuel savings. Volvo Penta is a modern inboard system, superior to inboard shafts in every vital aspect – handling, onboard comfort and performance. Those benefits have made Volo Penta IPS by far most popular system for leisure boats. Mazu Yachts hi-tech shipyard facilities are located in Yalova, one of the best strategic locations for yacht building in Turkey. The shipyard has 4,000sqm. of indoor and 1.200sqm of outdoor area. The production site features design offices overlooking the production site where technology, functionality and beauty become one. On-site furniture shop provides “dust-free” environment to build beautiful custom furniture for their boats. The new innovative painting booth of (200sqm) is where boats are dry painted in immaculate condition.
Mazu is the indigenous goddess of the sea who is said to protect fishermen and sailors, and is invoked as the patron deity of all Southern Chinese and East Asian persons. Born as Lin Moniang in Fujian around 960 CE, worship of Mazu began around the Ming Dynasty, when many temples dedicated to her were erected all across Mainland China, later spreading to other countries with Southern Chinese inhabitants.
